New York’s unmatched resources infuse a Trevor education. Trevor students augment curricular learning at renowned NYC destinations including Central Park, MOMA, Broadway, Lincoln Center, the Hudson River, and Ellis Island, as well as lesser-known sites such as the African Burial Ground, DNA Learning Center, Nuyorican Poets Cafe, and Storm King.
Trevor students are consistently introduced to the wealth of information and resources that abound in New York City. Local field trips include parks, museums and galleries, performance spaces, restaurants, historical sites, zoos, and a multitude of other opportunities.
Trevor offers outdoor education experiences, both day-long and overnight—to help students learn more about themselves, their peers, and the natural environment. Outdoor education experiences emphasize sustainability and the development of self-confidence, problem solving, and community building. Outdoor education experiences include Trail Blazers Environmental Planning Hike, Kiwi Country Day Camp, Iroquois Springs Camp and Retreat Center, and Timber Lake Camp (overnight)
Trevor encourages global study to broaden students' perspectives and illuminate curriculum learned in the classroom. Trevor offers opportunities to travel to domestic destinations such as Washington D.C. and Navajo Nation in Arizona, as well as a rotation of international locations that have included China, Costa Rica, Cuba, France, Greece, India, Morocco, South Africa, and Spain. Furthermore, as a Round Square member school, Trevor Upper School students and faculty are able to participate in a wide range of travel, exchange, and hosting opportunities including group and individual exchanges and attending Round Square conferences both in the U.S. and abroad.
When learning stretches beyond the classroom, students have the opportunity to test their knowledge and understanding in real-world contexts and spaces—making them that much more adaptive and aware.
